The offerings of Israel were very important to the priests of Israel. God had established the priesthood through His calling instead of through human election or qualifications like their level of education. God makes His decisions according to His knowledge of the past, present, and future. His divine mind is not limited by human flaws or natural barriers. The system of offerings not only served to teach Israel about God, they were also a support for the priests as they worked for God. The idea of supporting our elders and teachers is still in place today. The divine mind is a phrase I like to use when referring to the God of the Bible because it reminds me that God’s ways are high above my own. Although we humans have free choice, it is the living God who is supreme over everything.
