"As we read through the Bible, it is interesting to note that the names of the Levites operating in God’s sanctuary are often recorded. This is true when the exiles returned to Jerusalem, of the original Levites after the Exodus, and more. This tells me that God pays special attention to those who are committed to doing His work; God does not forget those who work for Him. The Levites had several times of organization, they were
given their assignments originally under Moses and as time when on the needs of the sanctuary grew and changed. King David, for example, organized Temple worship by arranging groups of Levitical singers. The book of Nehemiah names these men as a reminder that it was no small thing to work for the LORD.
