"Conflict is a necessary part of life. How we handle conflict determines whether it will be helpful to us or not. Do we tend to walk away from conflict in disgust? As Christians we need to try to talk it through and work it out because we see and value the other person asa creation of God, loved by Christ. This does not mean that we have to agree, but that we should learn and try to understand the other point of view. This helps us to get along, even in our differences. Media and culture today seems to encourage us to express ourselves at the expense of everyone else. It seems to say, “Who cares if we get along! Who cares if I understand the other side! Let me spout my opinions!” As we submit our lives to God, He helps us with our actions and reactions. He helps us to resolve conflicts in a godly way, restoring relationships rather than needlessly severing them. We need to become Christlike and mature in our faith, forcing our pride to take a backseat to the truth of God.
