"The Bible lets us see the different assignments that God had for the founding kings of Israel. David was assigned to subdue the enemies of Israel, but this focus had marred David. He had shed too much human blood for it to be appropriate for him to build the Temple. Even though he accepted this, David still prepared a great inheritance for Solomon to help with Solomon’s God-given task so David could still be involved in honouring God through the Temple. Today, there is no longer a physical Temple standing in Jerusalem, but the New Testament teaches that Christians are now the Temple o fGod (1 COR. 3:16)! The Holy Spirit of God rests in our hearts as the presence of God settled in the Jerusalem Temple. We can converse with God now in a very personal way. As the Temple, let’s make our lives places of worship, sacrifice, and honour to the living God who gives us life! This is the greatest witness to God’s reality that we could ever give.We are a family-run international ministry with television, print and online programs designed to guide you through the Bible in one year.
