"The book of Ecclesiastes dives into the painful truths and hard questions of life. The key word is vanity: the pointless emptiness of trying to be happy while separated from God. There are Hebrew words qo heleth translated as “Teacher”in many translations, probably means, “assembly leader” or “public speaker.” It’s not the usual word for teacher and is found seven times in Ecclesiastes and nowhere else in the Bible. For this reason, Ecclesiastes is often called “Qoheleth.” Traditionally, it is believed that Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon, “The Preacher”, known to be the wisest, richest, and most influential man of his time. The book can be summed up in one statement: ""Vanity of vanities, all is vanity"" (ECCLESIASTES 1:2). The book is the essence of a life that has everything you could possibly want except a good, solid relationship with God. However, Solomon ends his writings well. The cynicism and misery fade away when life is viewed as a daily gift from God.
