Season 8, Episode 5

"The book of Lamentations showcases hard questions that can surface during times of pain. Written by Jeremiah, these words act as a funeral for the once proud city of Jerusalem that had been overthrown and reduced to ruins by Babylon. While this is a book about pain it is also a book about hope in God. In the midst of death and destruction, Jeremiah turns toward his God. God had never failed Jeremiah and had promised to remain faithful in the future. Jeremiah rests on this fact, even in his anguish. The prophet's heart cry of hope rings loud and true: Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion,' says my soul, Therefore I hope in Him!' ‚ (Lamentations 1-3).
