Early Evangelism; Acts 6-8
Season 10, Episode 21

Acts is about the actions of the Holy Spirit working through the apostles and in the world. While the apostles remained in Jerusalem, they were tested in many ways. Saul of Tarsus was a hard man, committed to condemn and kill Christians wherever he could find them. But even during persecution, the apostles kept going. Acts 8 begins the great global mission of God to make disciples of all nations through evangelism, and ends in Acts 28 with Saul (who is renamed Paul)
preaching in Rome under guard, preparing his mission to confront Caesar with the gospel. Some say that we, the Church today, are the continuation of the book of Acts, as evangelists of Jesus Christ. Evangelical is not a dirty word. It is the fulfillment of what Jesus Christ told us to do. So many in the media often refer to Evangelicals but they really don’t know what the true meaning of that is. The early Church quickly expanded because of tenacious evangelization through severe
persecution. The LORD has a very different plan in mind than we often do.

Light; John 7-8
The effects of light are palpable: even the tiniest bit of light can make a room or area crossable. Where there is no light, however, there is danger, the unknown, and fear. Jesus said that He was the light of the world, that everyone who believes in Him and follows Him would not walk in darkness...

The Beginning; John 1-2
Things that have a beginning, have an end. All of our human experience tells us this. That’s why it’s an important Biblical teaching that God is eternal: He always was, He did not begin, He was, and is, and is to come. This contrasts with us and with the earth and universe. We all had a beginning...
