The Church has order. It should not be unorganized. The Church did not happen by chance. It was not unplanned, nor a backup plan. God ordained the Church from the beginning of time. Jesus mentioned the Church for the first time in Matthew 16:18, which says, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” The Church was designed to carry the presence and work of God in this world of sinful darkness. We are meant to conquer the evil works of satan. As we read 1 Corinthians 16, I see Paul reminding the Church that there is order, and that order is good. When we think about it, the early Church would have quickly felt the need to develop procedures and structures that provided stability and coordination. Let’s not forget that this is
a good thing! God is not a God of confusion, but of peace ( 1 CORINTHIANS 14:33).

Right Giving; 2 Corinthians 7-9
