I grew up thinking that a real man was someone who did everything his own way, and that I, too, needed to make my own way in the world my way, that all the decisions were mine and mine alone. Then I encountered absolute power and strength: Jesus Christ. The One who conquered death itself and whose supply of strength is unhindered by any boundary. Since committing my life to the LORD as a young teenager, He has slowly worked in and through me to help me understand what Paul the apostle tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:6, “But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me.” Paul knew the power of God! The reason he was still alive was not because of chance or his own power, but
because of the will of God, the power of Jesus Christ. God has something for each of us to do, something He has called us to fulfill. We would do well to keep our minds on the things that the LORD has called us to do and not get focused on the things we want to do.
