"Numbers 26 records the second time that God had Moses take a census of Israel. This census showed how the nation had changed during its time in the wilderness, and emphasized how the land of Israel would be divided once the nation took possession of it. In this census list, rebellion against God is mentioned. We’re reminded once again that rebellion is not something we should boast about. Rebellion is not a virtue. There are some circumstances that may require opposition to human leadership, but it is never a good idea to have pride in rebellion. It is not something we should relish. In fact, when rebellion is against God, it is deadly. All our decisions in life should be approached humbly, and prayerfully. We don’t know everything, but we do know the God who does.
