Psalm 91 is a great psalm for us to memorize when we find ourselves in times of trouble and difficulty. It was written and recorded in the Bible so that we could remind ourselves of who God is, no matter where we find ourselves. One of my favorite lines is, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (PSALM 91:1). Where is this secret place? In Psalm 91, “secret place” refers to a shelter, covering, or a hiding place. The secret place of God is where He covers our sins and mistakes, where He keeps us safe from judgment. This is Jesus Christ, the provision of God! Just as other Psalms affirm, God is our refuge and our fortress. He promises us amazing provision in the face of impossible odds. Remember that the LORD helps us, always.
