Without question, Isaiah was a great prophet of God. His ministry spanned four kings of Judah, with its capital city of Jerusalem. Those kings were Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Isaiah seems to have had frequent access to the courts of the kings. It is also interesting that the book of Isaiah was later divided into 66 chapters, which make his writings comparable to the Bible as a whole, with its 66 books. The first 39 chapters are dedicated to the judgment of Judah because of how they strayed from the laws of God, similar to the Old Testament. The last 27 chapters of Isaiah are dedicated to hope in the midst of judgment, comparable to the New Testament’s teaching of Christ. When we look at the time and the kings to whom Isaiah prophesied, we realize that Isaiah did live in a really interesting time in history. His ministry began around 740 BC, and the fall of Judah’s sister nation of Israel was in 722 BC.

Love Song; Song of Songs 1-3
The Song of Solomon, also called the Song of Songs, was written by Solomon about two people bound together in love for each other. Many interpreters have taken this to be an ultimate allegory showing the love between the LORD and His Church. Whether this is your view or not, we can all agree that...

God Acts; Psalms 105-107
How many times can we say that God acted on our behalf when we didn’t deserve it? My guess
would be: Too many times to count! God’s mercy is not just for us personally, it also makes Him
known to others. Such was the time of Israel’s exit from Egypt. They had gone into Egypt as a
family of just o...
