Details of the land boundaries included all the tribes of Israel. The allotment for the tribe of Simeon and Zebulun were published in the early verses of Joshua 19, by God, for everyone to witness. It is important to remember that it is God who gave these specific lands to the specific tribes, in order that they might conquer and set in motion in that region the precepts and the principles the LORD has prescribed in His Word. There were two points: (1) to conquer the land and, (2) to put in place a lifestyle in line with God’s Word. This was the proclamation which the LORD had commanded the tribes to live and make known to those around the nation. Israel was different, and they were commanded to live differently so that the world could see how God honoured and upheld people living by His law.
