The message of why God did what He did is captured in the conversation Jesus Christ had with Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a religious ruler of the Jews, a Pharisee, separated and devoted to the Word of God. So, it is not surprising that the LORD Jesus included this message in His conversation with him. Nicodemus longed to speak with Jesus personally, and ask Him questions. The key to understanding this whole discussion is to remember what it says in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” God is not against this world. The deep difficulties we have are often because God is excluded from our lives.

Back To Jerusalem; John 9-11
Jerusalem was not the place where Jesus Christ was best protected. In fact, many so-called spiritual people there wanted Him dead. Jesus knew this and told His disciples that He was going anyway. One of the things Jesus had to do was raise Lazarus from the dead, because he had been sick. The disc...
