Season 3, Episode 8

Israel had fallen so far from the LORD that there was no way they could hear the word of God or understand a revelation from Him. These were the days when the prophet Samuel was born, a time when darkness fell across Israel. A time when the nation became horribly dark like the other nations around them, which they had originally defeated through God’s strength and purpose. Samuel was a young boy when God called him. He would grow up to be the final judge of Israel and anoint the first two kings. Israel wanted to be like the other nations. It wasn’t about God anymore, or His
call, it was about perception. And so, Israel appointed Saul king because he looked the part. But God anointed David king because he was called for the part. Even when we refuse His call, God never leaves us out to dry.
