Psalm 102 is a prayer of the afflicted, when overwhelmed with pain. The Psalms focus on praise and worship but also trouble and pain. When we go through difficult times and cry out to God, what do we sound like? God provided the Psalms so that, when we pray, we can have the sounds of God and His eternal love in our heart.
Some say the Bible is a book of propaganda. However, when you read its pages, you discover differently. God gives us ways to think and pray that change everything. Psalm 102 contains twenty-eight verses of musical lyrics dealing with agony. How can we pray during times of great pain or disaster? What can we say to God? We can read, sing and pray this Psalm.
