When Society Goes Bad!; Micah 5-7
Season 9, Episode 7

What do we do when our foundations fall and our morality as a society fails? The psalmist asks a great question, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (PS. 11:3). This echoes a lament for Israel’s sins recorded in Micah 7. Micah seems depressed, he seems to believe that all is lost because everyone is lost, separated, and fallen away from God. So often, what seems to be very real for us in times of turmoil, is not real. It reminds me of when the prophet Elijah cried out to God that he was the only faithful one left, and the LORD reminded him that there were 7,000 who had not bowed to the false god Baal. When things go very badly, we need to remember one important phrase: God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! Even when it feels like no one else knows Him, we can trust that the LORD is making Himself known.
