Jesus told the parable of the good Samaritan to show that loving one’s neighbor is about demonstrating genuine compassion and care for others, especially those in need. In Luke 10:25–37, we read that Jesus chose an outcast Samaritan as the story’s good example of mercy while the priest and Levite were the bad examples.
