Accused of Great Evil; Job 29-32

"He was a handsome man who took on the world; a brilliant manipulator that many would follow what he said but would end up in a dark ditch because of his lies. No matter what this man did, he always seemed to succeed. That is, until later in life when he was old and broken; his money had disappeared, and he was living in a senior’s home unable to move
in a wheelchair. He could no longer talk because of his disease and his life’s work came to nothing. This man’s story is not unlike some who abuse their God-given life and talents to manipulate others and get whatever they want. This is also Zophar’s accusation against Job, that he must have been secretly living as a wicked man bent on evil, and because of that fact God was punishing him. But is that right? Did Zophar really know God’s intentions? Zophar’s presumption is a healthy reminder that we do not have the full understanding of why people suffer. We may think we have all the facts straight, when we actually do not.

no matter what happened to him. As Job ...
