The placenta and the umbilical cord are very important structures that serve as the baby's lifeline.
Dr. Kaia Kloster presents the late Dr. David Menton's discussion of the placenta; the unsung hero of embryology. The functions the placenta performs to sustain the baby are vast. Dr. Menton liked to refer to it as the selfless servant, it does it's job and vanishes.
Our heavenly father has wrapped our little ones up in the comfort and protection of the placenta. As told in Isaiah 66:13, "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem."
