"The letter to the Philippians is a testimony about having a celebratory attitude of praise for the things God does when we are in crisis. In verse 13, Paul says that he is writing from his prison cell, and many scholars believe the prison is a Roman one. Despite his imprisonment, Paul the apostle takes the time to personally thank the church at Philippi. This letter from Paul to fellow believers in Christ is a relevant book of encouragement and unity, and what it means to truly follow Christ, no matter the trial or tribulation. As Paul says, “For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in Him but also suffer for His sake, engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have. So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit,
any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”
