Eternal Life; Psalms 143-146
Season 6, Episode 7

While it is true that “this too shall pass,” as stated by a wise man when contemplating our modern societies, there are some things that don’t pass away. Circumstances change, time moves on, but as sure as the sun rises, sin left unchecked will grow. Sin presents us with an ongoing danger, it lingers in our lives and tarnishes us with all sorts of faults, and it must be dealt with. Psalm 144 is also contemplative, it tells us that a man’s life is nothing but a breath, it comes and it goes. Yet, with God our going is a passing on to something else. God can and does change our temporal life into eternal life. With the amazing work of Christ, we are redeemed and remade, saved from the hopeless cycles of sin and death. Psalm 144 ends with these words, “Happy are the people who are in such a state, happy are the people whose God is the LORD!”

Living Well; Proverbs 5-8
