Invisible Properties of Air

The pressure of the atmosphere on the surface of the earth goes unnoticed by most, but understanding this concept is the key to many other important concepts in science. A dozen demonstrations will illustrate several properties of air. The orderliness of the universe, including the laws related to air pressure, reflect God’s purposeful design of the universe.
George Matzko earned a BS in Chemistry in 1973 and his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 1978. After working as a research chemist he joined the BJU faculty in 1979. He chaired the Department of Chemistry for fourteen years and then the Division of Natural Science for 23 years. Since retiring from the classroom the Matzkos have driven over 24,000 miles and spoken 601 times in 139 churches and schools across the United States as BJU Science Ambassadors.
