"Many who have much seek to have more, more than they need. And some who are wealthy have difficulty giving money to those who need it. Quite often giving is done with a requirement so that the person doing the giving will get something in return. The problem is: that is not really giving. Jesus told us that we need to give what little we do have to help others around us. So how much more must we give when we have more
than we need? 1 Timothy 6 tells us that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. In today’s world, there are many who have much but refuse to give any of it away. Solomon – the wealthiest king in Israel’s history – says that this is vanity. It is empty, meaningless vapor! Yet, Jesus Christ taught us what it really means to give: Your Life.
