"Suffering is not always because of sin. There are hundreds of thousands who are suffering because they have chosen to live for and worship the LORD Jesus Christ. Statistics tell us that in the world today 1 in 7 Christians suffer for their faith in Christ. In fact, there has never been a larger number of people persecuted for loving and worshipping Jesus as their LORD. Persecution and suffering are not new in the world. In 1 Peter 4, Peter writes about Christ’s suffering and the suffering of believers who follow Him. He explains much about times of suffering; serving for God’s glory and suffering for God’s glory. He reminds us that it is a good thing to suffer for the right reasons. Suffering is often characterized as a horrible, bad thing, but what if we suffer because people are offended by our faith and worship of Christ? That is a good reason.
