"When Daniel was given witness and saw many visions of God, the LORD began a process in Daniel’s existence that changed how he understood and viewed the holiness of God. Daniel had an encounter with an angel, or messenger of God, who came to him following a great battle against the head forces in the spiritual world. When God frees us from the forces of sin, we are better able to understand what the LORD desires from us. Until that time, we are bound by those forces. The angel begins to reassure Daniel and refers to him as ‘greatly beloved’ of God, but Daniel is unable to understand what that really means. The richness of God's holiness is astonishing. We can see and understand many things about God when we study these records with the empowering of God’s Holy Spirit.
