"One day in seven is to be a day of rest for us. That is what God said and demonstrated for us in His Word: ""Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had
created and made"" (GENESIS 2:1-3). Notice that God blessed and sanctified the seventh day. From that point on the one day of rest in seven became the norm. That is the Sabbath day. In modern Israel they rest on Shabot, which is the Sabbath. If we are followers of Jesus Christ, it would do us well to also rest and honour God one day in seven. While Jesus Christ became our Sabbath rest, it does not mean we shouldn’t dedicate a day to the LORD.
