It's not all about what we believe, it is also about how we live. How we live reveals what we truly believe. John was a man who understood this and emphasized the importance of knowing and allowing the Holy Spirit to change us as we continue to seek God. We see this come through 1 John 2:3-4, Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His
commandments. He who says, I know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.‚ The truth is not in him! our actions, our lives, our follow-through, matching what we say we believe is extremely important. He has earlier taught in 1 John 1:6, If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.‚ Knowing the truth and living in the truth happen together. Today we will look at 1 John 2, and see what John teaches us through the Holy Spirit.
